Colin S [Lens profile info in camera raw]

Since the recent updates to Photoshop I am having a problem with Lens Profile in Camera RAW. I like to check that the correct lens and extender have been selected but when I click on the drop-down arrow next to Model I cannot see the full name of the lens combination.  I used to be able to see this information but it no longer shows the tail end of the name.  Does anyone know the answer, please.

Adobe says reporting a "bug" at photoshop.com is reporting it to adobe, although various adobe employees do thankfully participate on this forum, so one has probably seen your post, but i would still write it up over at photoshop.com.

Hi, Jeff,

Thank you for your interest.

I am using Windows 10 with the latest Photoshop CC and Camera RAW.

My camera is a Canon 5D Mk4. My lens is a 300mm f2.8 Mk 2. Sometimes I use the lens with a Canon Extender x2 Mk3 and sometimes with a 1.4 Mk3.

When I process the images in Camera RAW I like to check that the correct lens combination has been selected. I used to be able to do this with the tool tips but this no longer works. I can click on the Model field and the tool tip states "Select a lens model" but when I click on the drop-down arrow the list of 300mm lenses does not respond to tool tips and I can only see the first half of the lens name and cannot see what extender has been selected in combination with the lens.

I just cannot understand how I used to have the tool tip facility for this lens list but now it does not seem to work.

Any further thoughts would be appreciated.

Colin

Hi, Jeff,

Thanks for your comment.

Before contacting the Community I did try to contact Adobe to report the problem but their website just kept sending me around in a circle and my impression is that they don't want to be bothered and hope that questions will be resolved by the Community.

Hopefully, someone will be able to get through to them and that the next Camera RAW update will resolve the problem.

Cheers,

Colin

Thanks, Jeff, I will report it.

Dave will doubtless see this reply so,' thank you' Dave for your input. Knowing that someone else had the same problem gave me comfort that the problem was not my computer going funny.

This was my first time in the Forum and it was so nice to get such help.

Many thanks,

Colin

What lens model, extender and make of camera are you using?

What operating system, photoshop version and camera raw version do you have?

Anyway, click on the Profile name field and the pop-up tooltip should show the full text.
