I'm having issues with Liquefy and guides. Crashes every time I launch liquefy with guides whether they are visible or hidden.
I tried different files same result.
I guess that's a bug.
Any other idea of a work around?
The "show mesh" option is too fine.

What version of Photoshop and OS do you have and system specs would help, not seeing the issue here on CC2018.

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

I'm using the latest CC 2018, on Windows 10. The problem occurred on the previous version and was hoping the update that came out a few days ago would fix this but it didn't.
Reproducing the bug:
I was working on a multi layer file. The layer was stamped and turned into a smart object.
I added guides and added Liquefy as smart filter.
It would crash.
Same file no guides, liquefy doesn't crash.
I flattened the file, created a new document from that file, (no smart object layer just a regular layer) added one guide
I launch liquefy = crash
No guide, liquefy runs properly.
Tried the above on 2 other different files same behavior. So repeatable issue.

I've followed your procedure with a multi layered psd and still can't reproduce the issue you have
You still haven't mentioned what OS you have and system specs, have you tried updating your GPU driver from the manufacturers website.
Try going into Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings and changing the Drawing Mode to Basic, Restart Photoshop

Intel HD Graphics 4600, drivers up to date

Try going into Windows Event Viewer to see if there's any error logs relating to Photoshop.exe
On the start just type event viewer
When it opens click on Application, then on the right hand side you'll see an option to Filter Current Log.
Put a check mark in the Error check box and click OK, post any errors you find

Nothing there related those crashes or Photoshop

The only other thing I can think of is to try re-installing Photoshop using the Adobe Cleaner Tool
Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

I did trash my preferences (on previous CC version)
So have you done it on the one you are actually using, too?
