I have a student who indicates that all of her jpeg images are cut into large distorted bands. She sent me her files. When I open them in Photoshop, I see the problem. When I view them on my hard drive as icons, her original large files look fine. If I reduce them for attaching to an email and save them again, the icons on my hard drive show the same problem as the opened files do. Does anyone understand what has happened.?
I will attach one of the images and the screenshot of my hard drive folder.

Those files are corrupt. When you opened and resaved the thumbnail got updated.

The most likely reason for the corruption is a hard drive about to fail, or defective RAM.

Maybe the problem is during transfer form camera, pendrive, mobile disc? It's for sure corrupted file
or maybe camera is damaged?
