Photoshop CC2018 unexpectedly crashes, no known connection to crashes. but remains on, unresponsive.
The program can not be force quit or restarted. The only way to clear the problem is close everything and restart the whole Mac. Nothing has been changed on my iMac 3.1Ghz i5 core, running latest OS Sierra (10.12.6). Fault has started happening regularly in the past week or two. Taking up valuable work hours to debug. Greatest thanks in advance to anyone with helpful advice or fix.

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Thanks so much. Yes, I found this troubleshooting page but none of the descriptions fit the circumstance around each event. I have found out that Sierra has been updated and attempted a High Sierra update overnight. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue though, at this point, it has just made everything 20% slower. Thanks for your suggestion!!
