Has anyone heard anything about Adobe Media Server becoming end of life later this year or discontinued anytime in the next year or so?

According to their EOL database, looks like the end of core support is set for 6-21-2018...

I haven't seen anything about a new version anywhere.

Someone else with more info will hopefully swing by and be able to answer your question definitively.

Hi,

AMS is no longer available for distribution by Adobe. The core support will also end on 21 June this year; unless you have an existing support contract which exceeds this date. Please refer to EOL matrix for the same - All Apps Help | Products and technical support periods

You could migrate to AWS AMI instances provided by Amazon on subscription-based model - Adobe Media Server Help | Create an account and get started

Regards

Sanjeev

Hi,

So what happens with existing Users using Adobe Media Server? The Amazon Web Services (AWS) service is not an option due to legal constraints.

Is there any newer product that is going to be accommodating a similar service as AMS?

Is there any other product that our existing users can migrate to?

Kind regards,

Phedon.

Hi Phedon,

Users with existing licenses can keep using it, however support and new updates will not be available beyond the EOL date.

Also, there isn't going to be a new product replacing AMS.

Sanjeev
