Can't save psd file (freezes)

Hi everyone,

So I have been trying to figure out what is going on but im getting nowhere. Whenever I go to save a psd file everything freezes. I will insert some screenshots of a test file so you can better understand and maybe some other people are experiencing the same issue.

As you can see in these screenshots, after I save the file everything is locked and I can't do anything so I have had to go into task manager and end the task.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this I would really appreciate your help. Thank you 

In the image on the bottom left, this is after I have saved the file, as you can see all of the options are grey and I wasn't able to click on anything.

Also I forgot to mention everything works fine when i save the files as a JPEG
