Audio files not showing up in editing.

I am having an issue with the audio files not showing up in the editing window. When I import the clips into the project area the audio is there but when dragging the files into the editing area no sound and the wave files also do not appear. Mp3 music file transfers fine. I'm sure it's some silly setting that I am missing. Please help!
