Photoshop CC2018 - No Image

I have PS open and have a photo that I need to do color corrections on, as well as level the image...however, when I open the image, it shows that the image is open but it does not appear on the workspace. Just a black (blank) workspace. Is there a function that is turned off or something??

Use Photoshop menu Help>System Info copy and paste info here.

Did you open it as Smart object or use smart filters?

Please post a screen capture showing that the image is in fact open, but not visible.
