I have a complex layered psd file  that has a Grunge style  font, that i want to appear on top of the "ribbon" per say, that is in a spot color. There is also several other 4/c elements in this layout. with out making the type KO of the spot color is there any way to make type appear on top with out placing the file with the spot and then the type seperately in Indesign?

thanks

If you want to knock out some element from a Spot Channel you need to load that element’s transparency and fill it with white in the Channel.

Choking or spreading may have to be done by expanding or contracting the Selection.

The text should be created in InDesign, not Photoshop. Why don’t you want to place the type separately in InDesign? It’s the correct way to do it.

Uh.. i would prefer to, I am actually fixing a 4/c book cover and make it 5/c.

The text has grunge brushes and vignette and masks so its a little more complicated.Screen Shot 2018-04-02 at 10.27.15 AM.png

Do you understand that in Photoshop Spot Colors have to be created as Spot Channels and have no Layer capabilities?

(Duotone etc. are another way of outputting Spot Colors but as those images are based on grayscale images that would be no use to you, either.)
