I just updated to Lightroom Classic 7.3 and CPU is at 100% for literally hours, doing nothing

I just updated lightroom to 7.3 and now my CPU is at 100% for all threads.  I am running the latest MacOS.  I close lightroom CPU goes to 0.  I open Lightroom and my 2016 macbook pro becomes a space heater and I can't use it on battery for more than a few minutes.

How can I troubleshoot?  There are no processes in the background.   I'm not even doing anything and I left it running for a few hours in case it had a background task to complete.  There's no feedback or indicators of it doing anything.

I can't use it on battery and it's slow as molasses plugged in.

Any leads?

Thank you for the quick response!!  That fixed it.

Ironically, I don't even have GPS in my 6Dm2 turned on because it's such a battery hog, nor do I use the facial recognition feature because it can't tell the difference between a toddler and a dog.

I've never noticed this CPU issue before, but with the patch, something broke their background processes.  I do have 48,000 images in my catalog, though.
