Why has the B&W option gone from HSL/Color/B&W panel in the Develop module?

As of 7.3, you'll only see HSL/Color when a color profile is applied to the active photo, and if you apply a B&W profile, the HSL/Color panel changes to B&W only.

So to convert to B&W it means going to Settings and choosing Convert to Black & White or shortcut - V?

There is also the Treatment section at the top of the Basic panel, or you can choose a B&W preset, or you can go into the Profile Browser and choose a B&W profile.

B&W only shows if you have toggled Black & White in the Basic section.
Seems Adobe thought it inconsistent to include B&W on that panel if you were using color and the HSL/Color sections if you were switching to Black & White.

"inconsistent to include B&W on that panel if you were using color and the HSL/Color sections if you were switching to Black & White"
I for one, prefer to do my B&W conversions using HSL (setting 0 saturation for all the sliders with a preset). That has the advantage of leaving all the colour controls still active... rather than disabling some of them.
For example, changing Vibrance or the Hue and Saturation sliders can more or less subtly affect the INPUT which my B&W conversion, principally as to differentiation for the Luminance sliders, is then "filtering" its mono tones FROM.
Ought I to worry - might I be "inconsistent"? (grin)
