Using "Replace Contents" on .AI Smart Object Results in Color Shift (CS6)

Colors seem to get warmer/darker when I do this. For example, if I place a vector file in a Photoshop document, it looks like this:

Original.jpg

If I right-click on the layer and select 'Replace Contents...', and select the exact same file, it now looks like this:

Replaced.jpg

This only happens the once. If I do a second 'Replace Contents...', it stays identical to after the first replacement. It doesn't get any worse, but nor does it go back to normal.

Why is this happening? Is there anything I can do about it other than manually placing the new vector file?
