right and left panel disappear even when it is set on manual and I canot bring it back hiting tab key or shift tab

The right and left panels disappear whenever I click on the fil strip or even any where in the the module. The panels are set on manual. I cannot bring it back even when I hit tab or shift tab. This has been happening since I updated Lightroom 2 weeks ago,

If you talking about the Lightroom CC desktop app, tab does not control the side panels as it does in LR Classic. Use "P" to toggle the left hand panel, or "E", or "I" to toggle the right hand panel.
