Hi All

I am currently looking for good stock photos for my website which would represent my startup company. The company has three owners and the website is being developed by one developer hired by us. If I license the photos with a Standard License then I need to confirm the following:

1. Can I use the photos on my website?

2. Do I strictly need to ensure that the website has all the necessary measures to restrict visitors to not copy the images?. We have added some features but obviously it is not possible ensure that someone can't copy those images?

3. After downloading the images, we will put them in our Word-press media library from where it will be used by our developer on different pages?, is this allowed as per the standard licenses.

5. I was confused about the single-seat and team licenses?. I will license the image via my personal account and upload them on our web-hosting site. Our developer will then be using the images for different pages on our website and not for any client or other website. So is this allowed?

4. Do we need to add credits for unmodified images, I believe it is only required for social media usage?

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Regards

Ali

Muhammad,

  • I understand your requirement for the Wordpress account and for such scenario we usually suggest a teams account wherein you and your team can have access to the images which you license from Adobe Stock. With Adobe Stock pooled image licensing for teams, subscription plans that admins purchase automatically become available to team members. While you are still required to assign the Adobe Stock subscription to a team member (or yourself), all team members will have access. The team mem

Hi Muhammad,

• With a standard license, you can use the Stock images on your website provided you follow all the terms and restrictions of Adobe Stock. For more information, please refer to Stock Licensing & terms FAQ: Where can I find the terms and licensing information for Adobe Stock?

• When you use the Stock images on your website (unmodified), you must include a credit line to the photographer. The credit line which you should mention on the image should be "© [Photographer's name] /Adobe Stock"

• No, it is not allowed to use the images on a WordPress since it is a free and open-source content management system where the other users can copy the Stock images.

As per the needs, you can license an asset on behalf of the developer. However, please note that if you want to use the same asset for different developers, the asset must be licensed separately.

• You must include a credit line to the unmodified image. If the Stock images are modified, a credit line becomes optional.

Note: It entirely depends on the type of modification, if the changes are minor then a credit line must be included.

Hope this information helps!

Feel free to update this thread in case of any additional questions.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

So if I understand it correctly:

1. Even if our Word-press account is secure and only accessed by our team (three owners and 1x developer) but still it is not allowed to put the images in the secure media library of word-press based hosted site?. We are hosting a web-site at a reliable host and on top of it, we are using Word-Press package to deploy our website.

2. If me and my developer are editing the pages then we would need two licenses per image, right, even if we are using the images on the same web page but since two physical persons are editing it so two licenses are required?

  • No, you do not require two licenses for 1 image, you can license 1 image twice and can share it with your developer.
