Hello,

At the beginning of the year I had many "lag" using Lightroom classic CC. I formatted my computer and bought a new SSD.

I installed Windows on a 256GB SSD and put my lightroom catalogs and pictures on a 500GB SSD.

But here is what I still have:

I don't know if you are experiencing the same thing like me, if it is normal, but I don't think so. A friend of mine does not have the same behaviour.

Sometimes the mouse cursor is so slow, actions appear few seconds after I clicked. Very annoying!

The thing is: I have a pretty good computer!

Repeated use of the Spot Removal tool is known to cause this kind of lag.

Some things you can try

  1. Disconnect one of your two monitors
  2. Turn off the GPU acceleration (Preferences->Performance tab->Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor")
  3. Use the spot removal tool as the next to last step in editing; the last step being to turn on lens corrections and transforms
  4. Do the spot removal in Photoshop
  5. Get a faster CPU

New/faster SSD will not have any impact on this.
