AI Feature Request: "Collect for Export" and "Asset Exports Panel" support to CC Library

This user guide nicely explains how to use the "Asset Export" panel (or in the "Collect for Export..." contextual menu) for batch export of individual grouped illustrations.

https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/collect-assets-export-for-screens.html

It makes it deliciously easy to create a bunch of icons in a single AI file and then export them all in a variety of formats. Especially helpful is the option to select a bunch of things and the panel separates them into individual assets based on how things are grouped.

I wish I had more things to export, JUST TO USE THIS FEATURE.

HOWEVER, because I am an avid user of CC Libraries, I wish I could do either of the following:

  1. Use the Export Assets panel to export/send individual assets to a CC Library rather than locally, or
  2. Select a bunch of grouped things and drag them to a CC Library, where the Library would separate them into individual assets just like the Export Assets does automagically.

Hi DR Brandt,

We just released a new Library feature to support Drag/Drop files from the desktop into the panel, I know it doesn't solve the specific need that you are describing, but you could use the Export Assets Panel to export all your assets locally and then use the new Drag/Drop feature to add the assets from your local drive into the Panel in one action.

Hope it helps

Best,

Fernando

Oh! Not bad!  I just tried it.

It certainly makes the production flow A LOT easier, definitely. So I feel bad asking if the original request could still be added to the Feature Request To Do list. Even if the Export Assets to Screen folder selection could point to a local CC Library "encrypted" folder, that would then sync to CC.

Until that day, this solution is helpful. 🙂

Thank you!

Hi,

We are glad that the workaround helped you, however, I would request you to share your feature request here at our Adobe Illustrator Feedback form. This is the best way of communicating with the Engineering and Product Management teams regarding issues and suggestions so they can be implemented in future releases.

Regards,

Srishti
