Samsung NX1 HEVC video file only imports audio since new update

Why are Samsung NX1 video files no longer supported natively in PP2018 CC after the latest update? Files I worked with before are suddenly offlined and importing only brings in the audio. These files are MP4 HEVC and have worked in PP for the last two years without transcoding. I can import them into Encoder and can transcode them, but they used to be native in PP.

In the end I reinstalled the app and all is well. Don't know why the codec was corrupt or what but all works again. Thanks for your help in trying to figure it out.

BFVGuy,

What kind of audio is used? AAC or AIF format?

What happens if you change the file type extension to .m4v?

Thanks,
Kevin

I have no idea what the audio file recorded on the camera is, however, importing these files has never been an issue for the last two years until the recent update. the audio portion imports in.

No, I haven't tried to change the file extension. That would be tedious for every single file.

I think it's clear Premiere Pro 2018 CC simply no longer supports this codec. The question is why?

Samsung's specs say the audio files are AAC, but again that portion imports in.
