Puppet warp greyed out

I didn't manage to try puppet warp because since the release it's been greyed out.
premise: I use photoshop to work, so skip the part of tips like "unlock the level" or "select before transforming". Take for granted that puppet warp does not work because of some software problem.

I tried everything, update drivers, update software, smart objects etc.: simply no way.
The GPU acceleration is ON atm, but even if i switch it off, it won't change a thing.

Hi

You are shown as having two GPUs (Intel and NVIdia) which will have different drivers. This is known to cause issues with Photoshop. Photoshop works well with multiple monitors (I use three) provided those monitors are driven by a single GPU.

See sections 7 and 8 here:

Troubleshoot Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) and graphics driver issues

You have provided insufficient data to verify your claim.

What are the image’s Color Mode and bit depth?

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) and dialog visible?

Color Mode RGB. I tried every bit depth, it doesn't work for 8-16-32.
What you need in the Layer and channels panels?

What you mean with that? Sorry for asking, English is not my primary language, so maybe I don't understand what you're asking.

I meant that menu:

Have you tried the various settings under Photoshop CC > Preferences > Performance > Graphics Processor Settings > Advanced Settings (while restarting Photoshop after each change)?

I tried with both selected and not-selected item.

Sorry, »selected« is a bit ambiguous here: One Layer needs to be selected, but no Selection should be active (Select > Deselect).

Hi

Can you go to Photoshop Help >System Info and click on the "copy" button . Then paste the info here. It may help us see what is preventing the GPU functions on your set up.

Here Dave!
And thanks.
P.S: Not only Puppet Warp, Liquify doesn't work too, even 3D functions don't work as well, because some OpenGL document error if I remember well.

Are you saying Puppet Warp is not available after putting the selected area on a transparent layer?

Yes, transparent layer, and no Puppet Warp available. I think it's something related to GPU acceleration as well as the AIF error during Liquify.
It seems to me like PS is not using my GPU even when I select the option in the Edit>Preferences window, and I don't know why, or how to fix it...

Copypaste from another thread:

"Ok, this is weird and I don't know how it worked, but it did.
After changing my setup from 3 to 2 monitors, it looks like for some error my PC assigned my integrated GPU to my Cintiq, or maybe Nvidia had troubles working with my tablet. I uninstalled the Nvidia GPU drivers completely and unplugged HDMI port cables, then reinstalled Nvidia Drivers, switched off and pluged back HDMI. After restarting and updating Windows 10 all is working.

I don't know if it was a software problem related to HDMI ports somehow, Nvidia, or...Maybe it's been some kind of black magic?

Thanks for the assistance tho.

The solution for my problem could be useful for all multiple monitor users (Wacom Tablets count): be sure to have your dedicated GPU assigned to both your monitors!

Thanks Ged Traynor and davescm

Yes - multiple monitors work well but multiple GPUs do not.

Glad you have it working now
