When importing a text from photoshop it turns the whole screen black

I'm just trying to import text I made from Photoshop over to Premiere Pro, but it just ends up making the whole screen black. I want the text to just show on video I recorded but either doesn't appear or makes the whole screen black with the text that I typed. It also will only let me place it at the beginning or end of the video.

Sorry for the trouble. What is the exact workflow you are following to get the Photoshop file to Premiere Pro?
