My Text Tool Not Working

Hi there,

I am trying to create a title with effects. I am using the Text Tool. But as soon as I start using the text tool, it blacks out the screen. I can't see the text nor the images layered underneath even if I change opacity, turn off the layer, etc.

Is this another bug that needs fixed or am I forgetting something? It's just black and when I write the words I can't see them even if I highlight it.
