Good afternoon,
I ran into a bit of an issue the other day. I dragged a MP4 video into preimere pro for editing but it didn't come out correctly. It took a long time to encode and once inserted into the timeline, the video didn't work. When it did, it stayed on one or two frames. During the editing process, the system would crash often and it took 14+ hours to render. I'm sure that it shouldn't take that long for a 15 minute video.
The audio was fine but not the video. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this an encoding issue?

What created the .mp4 file?
If this is an isolated incident, it might be that the file itself is corrupt.
Can you post the properties of the file you were trying to work with?

The footage came from my elgato capture card. I had two other incidents that was like this. I tried to re-encode it differently with the media encoder, and it still has the same issue.
It is the only source that has the issue.
Here are the specs

There's a lot of recent talk on this forum about elgato related issues. You may just want to search using "elgato" and see if any of the threads posted can offer any insight. Not an answer I'm afraid, but may help shed some light.
