pictures disappeared after renaming

Hi everyone,

I had just finished post processing my first shooting, I had just renamed the pictures before exporting them, and they suddenly disappeared from the library and from the catalog folder... only 2 have remained. Is there an explanation for what happened? Please tell me the situation can be saved and I dind't loose hours post processing...

Sorry that your images are disappearing after renaming in Lightroom.

Could you please let us know the version of Lightroom you're using and where exactly are you exporting these images to? Did you used Lightroom to rename the images?

Where are the originals of these images located?

The version is the latest (7.3.1), Lightroom classic CC. I have used Lightroom to rename all pictures in the catalog and since then all pictures disappeared from the catalog itself (apart from 2), though a copy was created in the Pictures folder. I didn't export them, it was supposed to be my next step but I didn't have the chance to do so.

The original raw files are in the Pictures folder in the hard disk.

It looks like Lightroom did rename the selected pictures but lost all the editing I had done.

My guess is that they DID NOT disappear, they simply moved somewhere else, because perhaps you have the sort order to be by file name. So do a search of the folder for the photos by file name. Or ... change the sort order to by Capture Date (View->Sort->Capture Date)
