New InDesign/Old files?

I have recently updated my iMac OS from Snow Leopard to High Sierra. My original version of InDesign was CS. If I install InDesign CC will it open the old files?

Yes InDesign CC should open all files (at least from CS4 onwards correctly)

Thanks, Aman. Actually, my version of InDesign dates back to 2009 when InDesign was an update to Adobe PageMaker. This is version 1 and is a PowerPC program. I may try a Trial version of CC for $29.99 and see what happens. Any other comments are still very welcome.

That is not version 1. 2009 would have likely been CS4 or CS5.

Those files should open with no problem.

Thanks to you also, Bob. I have since unearthed more pertinent information for those of you who are trying to help me. I have the InDesign disks from which this program was installed. They show a Copyright date of 9/03. These are disks loaned to me by the newspaper at which I worked from 2003 thru 2013. I installed them on my then-new iMac in 2009.

My apologies for misleading anyone and any confusion I have caused.
