Premiere CC 2018 keep crashing when import files!_08 (WIN)

Same thing keeps happening to me no matter what I do. I have been using Premiere Pro with no issues the rest of this week, but upon starting a new project and trying to import a folder with my footage, I see "Import Files (Not Responding)" after 10-20% of loading. I even tried rolling back from 12.1.1 (Build 10)  to 12.1.0 (Build 186) and no change. How can these kinds of crashes STILL be happening in 2018?!
