The files ARE there, but nothing shows up.
Also the destination pane is now missing. Am I suddenly supposed to be
using the hidden destination panel? Never used to. Also, what ever is
checked there in the hidden panel, never works anyway.
If the Destination panel is missing, then right-click (or whatever the MAC equivalent is) on the the words "File Handling", and select Destination from the drop-down menu that appears.

Check the top center of the Import dialog.
Make sure you have selected something other than "add".

None of the options in that area changes anything.

In the Import window, select Move at the top. If you don't see the Destination panel on the right, right-click Apply During Import (or the header of any other panel on the right that's showing) and select Destination.
If you still don't see the Destination panel, post a screenshot of the entire Import window.

If Macos considers that device as "removable" (e.g. a flash drive or SD card), then you won't be able to select Move or Add (it's a LR restriction).

thats the ticket. How can these things disappear unknown like that after all these years?
