Hi together,

DOM documentation says that the parent of object textPath can be a EPSText object.

Adobe InDesign CS6 (8.0) Object Model JS: TextPath

And also EPSText has the property textPaths:

Adobe InDesign CS6 (8.0) Object Model JS: EPSText

Now I created an EPSText object by copy/paste text from Adobe Illustrator to InDesign. However it is not possible to use method add() of textPaths on the EPSText object. The error message is a simple: add

Can someone clarify that case?

I want to know this, because I am doing some fundamental research on object textPath right now.

Is DOM documentation incorrect? How can an EPSText object contain a textPath object? Has anyone seen a textPath on a EPSText object?

Are there other methods to generate an EPSText objects but copy/paste text from Illustrator to InDesign?

Regards,
Uwe
