Acrobat DC Freezing When Commenting

I am having a repeatable problem where Acrobat DC Standard freezes whenever I:

Comment on a document

Do something else (edit the document, Fill/Sign / Etc)

Choose the Comment tool again.

Upon choosing the Comment tool for the 2nd time - Acrobat Freezes, must be shut-down, and re-started.

Occurs on multiple different documents.  Even on freshly created and saved documents.

Windows 10.  Intel 8th gen processor w/ 16GB (so not a memory issue).  Files are not that big.

Anybody have a solution?  This is REALLY annoying.

Hi Tyj,

As per the issue description mentioned above, Acrobat is freezing when commenting on a pdf, is that correct?

Please try following troubleshooting steps:

1- Check if an update is available for Acrobat using "Check for updates" option under "Help" menu, reboot the machine after installing update and try again.

2- Launch Acrobat as an administrator and check if that helps.

3- Try repairing Acrobat using "Repair installation" option under Help menu, reboot the machine after repair and check.

Also, let us know dot version of Acrobat installed on the machine? You may refer to the steps given in this link on how to check the version: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Is there any error message when Acrobat freezes?

Let us know if you need any help.
