Flicker from one clip in another clip

Hi everyone,

I've been having an issue over the past few weeks which I have never encountered using Premiere.

When I move clips around on my timeline that have previously sat next to another clip on the timeline, a single frame of that clip remains in the clip I have now moved.

For instance, if I move clip 2 and lengthen it at the front to fit the new section of my video it sits in, a random clip now flickers for a frame in the middle of it. The flicker is a single frame from clip 1 which previously sat in front of it.

Please advise if you have had this same issue and how you fixed it.

I'm using Premiere Pro CC v 12.1.1 (build 10).

Thanks for your help!

It seemed to happen on slowed down clips. When I sped the clips back up to 100 the flicker went away, but then when I slowed them back down to 50 or 25 it re-appeared.

-Not using an accelerated GPU

-I believe my graphics driver is up to date (I'm working on a 2017 iMac that's only a few months old. Graphics card is a Radeon Pro 580 8192 MB)

-Other than speed change, no other Lumetri or other effects on these clips

-I cleaned the media cache but that appear to change the flicker

I have just deleted th

I mean a screen recording showing us how you are working on the premiere pro timeline and what's happening there please, not an export of your edit

I've just watched the exported video attached and upon exporting the flicker isn't in the clips.

Here is footage of the same clips still in Premiere: https://vimeo.com/279787838

This is a playback issue from within premiere, are you using accelerated GPU ?

Do you have your Graphics driver up to date ?

Did you apply Lumetri or any other effects to the clips ? if you remove the effects what happens ?

Did you try to clean the 'Media Cache' ?

Did you try to delete the 'Video Previews' ? or Sequence - Delete Render Files ?

you are welcome ! for better slow motion, try to shoot on higher frame rates such as 60fps /120 fps,

then drop that footage onto a lower frame rate sequence like a 24/25 or 30fps one without changing the speed.

Shoot only the scenes you are going to make slow motion at higher frame rates not all of them,

if your final output will be a 24/25/30 fps

If you are in PAL-land stick to 25 or 50 fps.

Mixing socalled ntsc framerate with pal framerate can be a big pita.
