I am not solving this on my own.

I load images in LR by doing Library (top tab) > Import > Source > drive...

All the pictures i have imported this way end up in folders with the correct date and name but not the correct year (my pictures are organize in Decades > Year > month...

This folder is in 2018

Untitled-1.jpg

but the images end up not under 2018 but 2017

Untitled-2.jpg

How can i put these in the correct order ?

thanks

First thing to do is to right click one of the folders (for example 01-23 Pu Long) and select Show Parent.

Hi fetusticianpj,

We're really sorry for all the trouble. You may try updating the folder location from the library module and check if that helps to show the folder under the correct parent folder. How to find missing photos in Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC

Also, please check if the option "Show Photos in Sub-folder" is checked under the library menu in Lightroom.

Regards,

Mohit

I did the Find All Missing photos, but this does not reassign the folders

to their correct parent folder

Do you have your photos backed up? Do you have a current backup of Lightroom?

In the first screen shot it looks like you have 2010 through 2018 in your 2010 parent folder. Close your 2018 folder for the moment and move the folders year by year out of 2010 into your Pictures folder. Start from 2018.

Are the contents of the 2018 folder as shown in your first screen shot from 2018?

If you create and use an import preset  you are less likely to have images go into the wrong folder.

Here is a short video on moving files: Lightroom 5: Organizing Your Images - YouTube Even though it is Lr 5 it is still relevant.

It remains the default until you undo it by right-clicking and select "Hide Parent"
