Search tab: search for two-word phrase also retrieves instances where words aren't together

Hi,
I'm on RH7 and using HTML help. In the .chm file, when we search for the phrase "vendor minimum" (and we ARE using the quotation marks), it retrieves topics with instances of both words adjacent (as expected), AND topics with both words not adjacent. In the cases where the words are adjacent, the search highlight is showing. In the cases where it finds the words not adjacent, the search highlight doesn't show on the individual words. So the highlighting is working right, but the search itself isn't...
Any ideas?

Hi Laura,

Just a hunch but would vendor minimum also be in a DHTML hotspot as I believe a search would find them in a CHM but not highlight them.

Hi Colum,
Good question...but the topics in question don't contain DHTML hotspots.

However, you inspired me to take a closer look at the topics that are displaying in the search, to see if there are any patterns. Sure enough, there are. Here's the scoop:

A total of 5 topics display.
One itopic is legitimate--it contains the words "vendor minimum" together.
Two topics contain the phrase "vendor has a minimum"
Two topics contain long lists of hyperlinks to other topics, with a carriage return between each hyperlink. In both of these lists of hyperlinks, there are two consecutive hyperlinks in which the first one contains the word "vendor" as its last word, and the second one contains the word "minimum" as its first word (for example, a hyperlink that reads "millwork window vendor" is immediately followed by a hyperlink that reads "minimum gross profit"--thus the words "vendor" and "minimum" are consecutive...except that they are on separate lines of text).
