premier exporting animated GIFs wrong

I have this weird problem when trying to export an animated GIF from premier, I tried exporting this as a gif:

this one was exported as a video and then converted to a GIF using an external program.

whenever I try to directly export as an animated gif, this happens:

these are my export settings

does anyone have an idea what causes this?

Hi casvanluijtelaar,

It might have something to do with the way the effect was constructed. You can try nesting and then doing the mask effect on the nest. Try that, please.
