Removing saved credit card details

I recently found out that my credit card details are saved with Adobe, without my permission. I had purchased adobe Photoshop.

I am currently subscribed to an annual plan and will not be renewing the license, so saving the card doesn't make sense.

Please let me know , how can I do it.

Chances are that somewhere in the agreement you accepted when you took the subscription you also agreed to allow them the use of your credit card information.  My guess is that you won't be able to change any of it without contacting support since they need some means of being able to charge you should you decide to drop the plan early.

Thanks for the info.

But the customercare said they cannot remove the card. I have finished paying for an annual plan already. Then why keep the details.

Hi,

Your credit card information is absolutely safe with Adobe, however, there is no option to remove your credit card details.

You can anytime update your payment method but not remove it.

Thanks

I also really really hate the idea (after so many hacked companies have made it certain that a customer's credit card information is not "absolutely" safe) that Adobe is keeping my credit card details. This makes me heavily dislike Adobe's policies. We may not be able to remove our credit card details as yet, but believe me, the company's competitors will have an open door to become "not Adobe". At some point, this policy will bite your company in the butt. I'm already researching other options.

I'm just commenting so I can find the thread later where an Adobe employee said "Your credit card information is absolutely safe with Adobe" .. I'm sure the lawyer will have a field day with that.

Also .. I don't blame you for not trusting Adobe with your info lately.  I've been trying for DAYS to reach the accounts page of the website on three different browsers and it's giving DNS errors : https://accounts.adobe.com

Here is my conversation with Adobe customer support! Shocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. I am the Adobe Customer Care Virtual Assistant. Tell me what you need help with. I'll do my best to understand and find the right person to assist you.

Hello, I would like to remove my old credit card information from my account. There is no option to do that! what should I do?

Adobe Customer Care Virtual Assistant

Ok. Connecting you to an agent who can help.

Connecting you with a specialist as soon as possible.

You are now connected to Jagriti, who is reviewing your account. If you need to share sensitive information, such as credit card number, please wait for your agent to give you steps to share it securely.

Jagriti

Hello, I'll be happy to assist you. Please submit your card details on www.adobe.com/go/secure, and let me know once you're done. Then I can update your payment information for you.

ok please give me a moment

Jagriti

Please take your time.

ok I have 2 credit cards that I want to be removed
I did put the cards information and submitted that

Jagriti

Now older card details will not be used.

I want the information for those cards to be removed from my account completely

Jagriti

Once the new card details are uploaded it replaces the old credit card information.

I know that

Jagriti

Please help me with the last four digits of the new card updated so that I can confirm its correct.

I updated that myself and I know my old card information will not be used for billing but i do not want you to keep my old card information in your system! This is so frustrating that there is no option to remove those when i login to my account!

Jagriti

We have no option to remove the card details, .

really
!!!!!

Jagriti

Card details cannot be deleted in an action plan.

I do not want you to keep my card info on your system!
Please remove the info completely

Jagriti

Your personal card details are not saved with us
It is just under your account.

But I can see my cards when I log in!

Jagriti

Yes, it is under Adobe safe portal link

How about if you get hacked!

Jagriti

Adobe does not support such activities and pays great attention to its customer's security

OO every company says the same thing until they get hacked!
You are keeping my card info on your system without my permission
I want to delete those cards but you keeping my card info without my permission!
That is not legal
4:37 PM
Jagriti

As part of our data security standards, Adobe does not store your credit card information on its servers and instead uses an encrypted token number to process the payment.

This is the first time I am hearing such thing that a company does not allow me to have control over deleting my cards info from my account
You are the only company who does such thing and I am not happy with your policy at all

Jagriti

Arman, I understand and respect your concerns for the privacy and security of your financial data however we cannot delete the card information within an active plan, and Adobe does not store your credit card information on its servers and instead uses an encrypted token number to process the payment.

Every company does all the security precautions and you are not the only one! But By general the possibility of a data breach is always there! I guess Adobe is too big now and can do whatever they want
that is my conclusion!
Just read people's comments online to see how people hate you because you are keeping their card info without their permission!
Sent 4:44 PM
I am not satisfied at all and I will save this conversation and definitely take legal actions against you if anything happens as a result of you keeping my cards in your system without my permission!

I agree. Adobe are ruthless with their techniques for keeping customers and taking their money.

They should be more ruthless with their software actually working and getting rid of the many and growing number of shortcomings. I'd happily keep paying if I liked their software enough but alas I do not.

If there is a credit card that you used previously but no longer do, then you may be able to submit a request to Adobe to ask (or confirm) that it be removed.

ProDesignTools Firstly that link logs me out. Secondly do I need to read between the lines of your post? i.e you said "may" does this mean possibly not? and "used previously but no longer do" does this mean expired?

I dont want to spend another half an hour of my time looking for a hidden link that will not answer my question.

It means that if you have a card on file that is inactive (i.e., not being used for any current/active subscription), then you should be able to confirm that it's removed from your account or you can submit a request to Adobe for same, via that page.

Haven't tried this personally, but under GDPR which came into effect last month, companies now need to have a way to allow customers (esp. in EU) to delete personal information.

What he meant was, if you have another card aside from the one with Adobe, then you can update your info there. A card that you no longer used. He said "may" because it might not work or active anymore. But if you do have another card that you seldom use, you have that option. But what I did was, I called my credit card company to report that my card was lost.

I didn't remove my credit card from the account, but now that I have a prepaid subscription, and I do not have need for the Photography plan anymore, the credit card information formerly stored with Adobe are no more available on the Adobe site.

Today Adobe rep responded to my request to remove my credit card information, his reply:

"I have successfully raised a request to delete the payment details."

I will of course check later to confirm. Still, I am left with a negative impression of Adobe.

I ran into the same problem but I HAVE A REAL SOLUTION.

There is still no way to delete the card information from your own account end. However, I chatted with an Adobe rep and I was very friendly and specific about what I wanted: "I have successfully dadded a new card ending in XXXX and now I would like to remove the old card which ends in YYYY. Can you please remove that card for me."

It took them 5 minutes and they said it was done. I confirmed and it was gone.

Wrong, this does not work. It works for others but not this POS company. They will run the card when you click save and if it does not go through you will NOT be able to save the card or move past that screen. If you close the box, the original card is still there and they will still continue on with their shady criminal enterprise.

All of your date changing discussion is irrelevant. Just call Adobe. I called them and changed my card and deleted the old one. It took 5 minutes. This issue over deleting old cards is no longer an issue. Period.
