Is it possible to export all the layers in all the artboards?

Export all artboards only does the top layer of each artboard - unless I am missing a setting?

Exporting the layers to files exports the image but it is the full size and not the artboard

Is this even possible?

If you give each layer an image extension such as Layer1.png, Layer 2.jpg

You can then use the Generate > Image Assets option on the File Menu.

This will create individual images of varying sizes depending on the content of the layer.
So it will be smaller than the Artboard unless it took up the full dimensions of the artboard to start with.

Export Artboards to Files is exporting a composite version of artboard or in other words, all layers merged (I am testing with JPEG format and the latest release of Photoshop).

There aren't many settings that can be missed. Here is a screenshot of my Artboards To Files dialog.
