Whenever I import a video to start editing with it gets auto cropped. So the sequence, frame etc options don't fix it b/c the imported clip itself gets cropped upon being added to premiere.

Help adobe premiere - YouTube -This video is what is wrong, thanks.

Trying to follow that on my phone, I couldn't see exactly what you're doing but that is not a good way to ingest media.

Use PrPro's Media Browser to navigate to/select the file or files you want to import. Then from the Project panel, dragging a file to the blank timeline area will get you a sequence set for the frame size and rate of the clip.

You are not the first to complain about cropped screen captrure footage.

Run file through Handbrake and make sure it is set to constant framerate.
