We have PDF files coming in from all over the world and when their placed in folders the PDF's from China will not sort by name date etc, they always want to be in the middle. In this example file 20, 21 from will not sort..
Again, it's an OS issue. Nothing to do with Adobe.
My guess is there's some kind of hidden character next to the space that is being interpreted as a zero, or something like that, which is causing it to appear where it does in the sorted files list.

Its a screen shot from the latest build of Windows 10 using the latest build of Adobe Reader; I've also tried on Windows 7 with the same results. The files are located in a folder.
Thanks for replying!

So is this a Windows dialog, or from insider Reader?

Might be better if you posted a full window screenshot...

OK, this is a Windows dialog. It has nothing to do with Adobe Reader. You should post your question in a Microsoft forum.

same results on a MAC, spent hours with Adobe support and they are baffled -- the only files effected are from China. If i export to word same results. Time give up

Many Thanks! You were right - I simply removed the spaces (doesn't look as pretty) but they sorted!

After removing the spaces and applying the new file name, you could rename it again and add them back it. I believe it will sort correctly then.

Try changing the file names.
