iPhoto to LR

I am exporting from iPhoto on an iMac to LR 6 using the plug in method.  LR6 is on an external drive.

I would like to delete iPhoto after the import to LR is finished ....  I'm not sure if this will have any impact on the images in LR.

New to this so ....  any and all explanations appreciated.

Hi robertm,

While transferring images from iPhoto to Lightroom 6, you will choose a location to save all the exported images and the smart preview will be imported into Lightroom catalog for edit.

Once the process is complete, please check the image by going to the Lightroom Master folder. If everything looks perfect then, you can delete the iPhoto data.
