Posting Video To Instagram, Terrible Quality

Hi there,

I'm an upcoming videographer/video editor.

For years, I've been trying to upload high quality videos to Instagram and have had no success.

It seems that no matter what settings I use or what video editing software I use, nothing changes. I've used Final Cut Pro X switched to Premiere and back again.

Can someone please tell me the correct settings to export a video from Premiere Pro, to Instagram?

Every time I post a video it looks pixelated, blurry and not at the high quality that I need to start my business or just to have decent looking videos on my Instagram feed.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Rochelle

From https://www.facebook.com/business/ads-guide/video/instagram-feed/video-views :

Upload the highest-resolution source video available without letter or
pillar boxing (no black bars). Most file types are supported. However,

we recommend H.264 compression, square pixels, fixed frame rate,

progressive scan and stereo AAC audio compression at 128+ kbps.

Be sure to also read the other informations on the website

Hi,

Thank you!

Will read that now and see if it works. I've literally run out of ideas of what to try.

If it's ok, I'll reply if it hasn't worked.

Thanks,

Rochelle

Well I believe I already came across that article a while back.

Still, no success.

I wonder if I should screenshot my settings so you guys can see if I'm missing something...?

Thanks

Sorry I'll post the specific part next time.

It's jus the part under the Video heading that I was trying to show the different settings that apparently is supposed to work.

Thanks,

Rochelle

Turn off Max Depth and Max Render,

Set software encoding to hardware encoding

Target and Max Bitdepth both to 16.

Set VBR2 to VBR 1 pass.

See how that goes.

Between both sources, what were the final specs you went with?

Hi there,

I used what Ann Bens suggested, for the export settings. I also make sure to change the sequence to 1280 by 1280. A follower on Instagram would also scale the video clips to that size. I haven't tried that yet, as I usually leave it with the two bars. I just put text in the two bars and then export.

Hope that helps!

Hey! I'm having trouble with the quality when I upload to Instagram as well. The video looks great when I export it and transfer it to my iPhone, but then when I put it on intagram, the quality is really bad. I've tried the suggestions on this feed and I haven't seen a change. I filmed the video with my iPhone 6s and I'm transferring the video back to my phone through iCloud Drive. I'll post a screenshot of one of the most recent export settings I tried. I'd really appreciate your help. I'm stumped!Export Settings.png
