Error importing media

I'm trying to import audio files (both mp3 and wav) into a Premiere Pro CC project. It will either take forever and the progress bar will not move at all, or it will come up with a message saying 'an unspecified error occurred while performing a conform action'. I've tried clearing the media cache but audio files are still not being imported. What should I try next?

Sorry for the import issue. Is this happening with all mp3 and wav files? Please check with files from a different source.

Are you able to import the same files into Media Encoder?
