Recently downloaded LR Classic CC to my new MacBook Pro.  Downloaded Instagram plugin, but my plugins are not showing up.  Cannot access any of the OE plugins either in LR. Shows as installed and running, but I cannot access it.  Any suggestions?

Hi brcpres,

We're really sorry for all the trouble. Could you please let us know the exact version of Lightroom Classic CC you are using now? Also, which Instagram plugin you have installed for Lightroom?

Regards,

Mohit

Some plugins are included by Adobe with LR, e.g. AdobeStock, Nikon Tether Plugin, and SmugMug. Adobe presumably tests these plugins for bugs and compatibility.

Some third-party plugins are available via the Adobe Exchange. Adobe does very minimal checking of such plugins before including them in the Exchange. There's no guarantee that such plugins will be free of bugs or will get good support from their developers.

Most third-party plugins, including the most popular ones, are available only from the developer, e.g. LR/Instagram.  Adobe doesn't provide any checking or guarantees about these plugins.

Very minimal. And then they make changes that break your plugin installing correctly. Such joys!

Well, you're missing out. It's a neat plug-in that does what it says on the tin.

Is this LR/Instagram? It's not gonna work anyway because Facebook shutdown desktop API's on Aug 1st.

It can be done by syncing to Lightroom CC, then publishing to Instagram or Facebook on your mobile Device.

In File > Plug-In Manager, verify you are actually running the most recent version of the LR/Instagram plugin(0.6.1577). Make sure any old versions are removed from Plug-In Manager. It looks like this most recent version is trying to better handle Instragram's new user authentication protocol introduced in September (according ot the plugin author), which is causing these various errors.
