I have been able to past shapes from illustrator to indesign with no issues for years. Now all of the sudden after the last couple updates It just comes in as a placed object, Also Fonts are defaulting as well with no styles set when pasting from one indesign doc to another. Its really frustrating. I have gone through all of the preferences and im not seeing anything on either fronts. Can someone help?

Thanks, Chris

In Illustrator Preferences > File Handling & Clipboard > Clipboard, tick the AICB checkbox and choose Preserve Paths.

By default, applicable type styles should stick to copied/pasted text within InDesign. First thing to try there is resetting your InDesign preferences. Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences [2009 Outdated & Locked]

Thanks, I have been dealing with this for a couple months! Its been verry annoying.  Ima 20 year adobe pro and honestly this one had me stumped! Thanks again! I never would have thought it was an illustrator preference hosing me up in indesign!
