Split Indesign document into single files

Hello.

I am currently working on a magazine in Indesign. The client wants every article of the magazine supplied in an individual folder (linked to all fonts and images used in the article, plus a PDF and an idml file in that same folder). So up until now I had one Indesign document, manually split that up into a single Indesign file for each article, then used the Package option for each article. Then opend each article saved them as a PDF and then as an idml file. As this is very time consuming, I am now trying to find a more efficent way of doing all of these steps. Any ideas?

Not quite as easy as it sounds especially if you have threaded text. I suppose something like this can be scripted (though not by me <g>) but if it was not part of the original agreement I would certainly not be shy about giving the client a price for this additional work.

As far as actually doing this, I would create a new file and use the move pages command from the pages panel menu to move the pages to the new file. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Unfortunately it was part of the original agreement with the client, so it has to be done. Yeah I thought that ther is no way around this acutally ... Thanks anyway!

Tried the script already, but  it didn't work for my cs5.5 or I maybe I just did something wrong, anyway, didn't work. ah well. Thanks as well Eugene!
