Trouble importing photos (Lightroom Classic CC 7.5)

When trying to importphotos from my SD Card - Lightroom shows no images at all.
Camera RAW is up to date - EOS 5D III camera up to date.

Have tried to move my RAWfiles to a different folder - but with the same result. Have also tried to connect the camera directly to LR, but no difference here.

Even after using the Adobe DNG converter LR can't see the images (tried just to move them)

Anyone with a suggestion?

Then uninstall Lightroom and reinstall it. Don't worry, that won't affect your catalog.

Is "Don't import suspected duplicates" checked in the import dialog? If so, Lightroom may not show the images because it thinks they have already been imported.

Hi Johan
Thanks for your suggestion - yes, I have tried to import with and without this one checked.

It's just blank, allthough there are RAW images on the SD-Card.

I don't see anything unusual, except for one thing. When I import from a memory card, I see the card twice. At the top as 'device', and also listed under 'Files'. This is on a Macintosh, but as far as I know it should be the same on a PC. In your screenshot I see the card as device only. I wonder if that could have something to do with it. Have your tried manually copying the images to a folder on the hard disk and importing them from there?

Yes - I have. Don't know why it not was shown on the first screenshot, but it is here in the picture below. Have tried to install an earlier version of LR - as I thought the issue came with a recent update. Unfortunately without succes.

I can easily open the images in Camera Raw in Photoshop - so there is nothing wrong with the files.

What happens when you select the 'DCIM' or the '100EOS5D' folder in the Files section? And when you check the 'Include subfolders' checkbox? Still nothing?

Are you connecting the camera directly to the computer or using a card reader?

If camera to computer try a card reader. Or a different cable.

I have tried it with the biult-in Card reader in my computer, directly through the camera and by copying the files to a folder on my computer. Nothing Works

Ok, last suggestion. Create a brand new catalog and try to import them into this catalog. Does Lightroom see the images now? If yes, then there is a problem with your current catalog. If no, then there is a problem with Lightroom itself, or with the images. Try to import some other images then, to see which is more likely.

Hi

sorry - but the new catalogue did'nt Work

I suggest that its Lightroom that is the problem. I have tried to import images from the same SD-Card on a different computer - this worked out fine!

Hi Johan

It worked!

Triede earlier to install an earlier version (without uninstalling the previous one) - this did not make any difference at all. But ininstalling the app and the re-installing made it Work!

Thanks a lot for your help

Yes, I tried all ideas

- Played with "Do not import suspected duplicates" option

- Tried to copy files to c:\tmp and import from there

Seems import stopped working completely

I solved the issue using this approach ("delete Preference File"). As I can judge it is a quite common problem, would be nice if Adobe has it fixed, removing preferences is a desperate gesture.
