Bug or something with auto centering view while zooming

Hello.

I've just updated Photoshop to CC18 and figured out that it is completely impossible to work now.

If I use zoom tool or just zooming via Alt+click+mouse moving – the image I am working with goes automatically to the center of photoshop screen after I release the mouse click. This is completely inconvenient and I tried to find how to turn off this crazy option but couldn't find anything.

Also, this happens only if an opened image is zoomed to a size smaller than the work area. If it doesn't fit the work area – no centering happens.

I've recorded screen video with the issue, take a look, please:

So if you know the answer I'll appreciate your help.

Regards,

Aleksei,

Hello, Akash.

If the bug is already known why there is still no update with fixes?

I had a similar problem: when the image is zoomed bigger than the work area, and I click on a layer with auto select, after this procedure the image centers itself automatically. This is making me nervous.

Does anyone know when the update will arrive?

Still having two issues: this one with crazy centering and veeery slow healing brush (i read about this issue). So it's impossible to retouch anything and I've rolled back to CC 2017.

When will this issue be fixed? I am finding mouse wheel zooming useless until it is fixed.

Never mind, now it is working properly!

Thanks so much!

Hard to believe it is 2022 and this is still an issue. I just got CC this month and this is still a bug in photoshop. Very frustrating that everytime I zoom in using the alt key, I have to wait for the screen to scroll to the center - just so I can scroll back to where I was to continue working. I, too, have to deal with this eight hours a day.

Could the development team please fix this issue? Seems like this should have been solved by now, considering it's a post from 2017.
