Garbled fonts in Acrobat DC Standard

User has Acrobat DC Standard, when modifying a document, the new text is not appearing on the document. The fonts are there, but they are garbled.

Here's the error message when you open the document with changes:

As per the issue description mentioned above, you are facing issue with fonts when opening a pdf file, is that correct?

Could you check if the font mentioned above exist on the machine on which you are opening the pdf?  You may refer to the following forum thread for more info: Cannot Find or Create the Font

None of those suggestions worked. A Google search doesn't even find that font.

Who created the PDF and with which software? Look in the Properties tab and show us the first panel: Description.

Thanks for this screenshot. It helps to clariy why you are having an issue.

First, the PDF was made by Report Mill, not Adobe. Although Adobe created PDF technology, they gave it away to an ISO and others can make PDFs. You might check with Report Mill to see what happened.

Also, it was saved into Acrobat 3, which was released in 1996. That could be another reason.

If you have the original Report Mill document, make the edits there and make a new PDF. Otherwise, contact the creator for help.

When a PDF is poorly made, you have issues as you are seeing now. Back in the days when Acrobat 3 was current software, editing a PDF was not an option. That came much later.
