Part of a clip offline, no gray bars.

I'm trying to reexport an old project but a few clips from my timeline appear as if part of them is offline. However, they don't show any gray bars. If I double-click on the clip and watch it on the viewfinder I can see it in its entirety.

I deleted all the previews, unlinked the media and linked it again. I replaced the media with the same file that was originally saved in a different folder. I tried selecting the clip from the viewfinder and dropping it back in. I even tried copying the files and pasting them to a new sequence because I realized that if I moved the clip to a different part of the sequence I can see the whole clip.

I don't know what else to do or what the problem actually is.

Does anyone out there know?

"Viewfinder" ... that's something outside of PrPro?

You mention this is an older project, implying the media is older also. What is that media, made by what, about when? Format/codec & such ...

Sorry, I said viewfinder when I meant source monitor.

The media was recorded last year. They're MP4s 3840 x 2160, H.264, ACC

That's certainly not olde maedia. Lol

Huh ... of course what shot them?

Have you deleted all cache and media cache database files, rebooting and testing them?

Some times a bit of corruption gets into the cache files or preview files, and every time the clip included in that is used, you get the corruption. Therefore clearing the cache/database and preview files fixes many such issues.

Other times ... it's other things to try.

For the benefit of others who may have the same issue, how did you fix it?
