Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Intel Core i7 7820X @ 3.60GHz

64.0GB ram

GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11gb

Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB

when i edit a sequence in premiere pro, when i move the cursor in the timeline back and forth a few times, audio and video start stuttering , not just on premiere but on the entire computer, (youtube, vlc etc...)   after a few minutes it goes back to normal and i can go back to editing. i tried everything reinstalling windows, audio and video drivers, clear cache, i just dont know what to do anymore

Thank you

Do you only have the ONE drive you list?

Having operating system and programs and video files on only one drive is less than optimum

You need AT LEAST a second drive for video and temporary files

I use 4 drives, and have no "stutter" problems like you describe

1 - operating system and all programs

2 - all video INPUT files

3 - project and temporary files

4 - all video OUTPUT files

For test put the files on the internal drive and see if they still stutter.

I have the same system and no stutter but I do not use a NAS.

DavidA,

Kindly create proxies for these files to see if you have better performance. I recommend GoPro Cineform (PC) or ProRes 422 (Mac). This doc should assist you: Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Ingest and Proxy Workflow in Adobe Premiere Pro CC

Let us know if that helps or not.

Thanks,

Kevin
