Hi all
Last monday I migrated my OSX system from one MacPro to another one. Since the migration I have some serious performance issues with Lightroom.
Especially the full screen mode (F-key) takes seconds to open. Hitting the space key to zoom in within activated full screen takes 5-10s to zoom in, and another 5-10s to zoom out.
I upgraded from a MacPro 6.1 (6-core, 32GB, 512SSD and D300 FirePro GPU) to another MacPro 6.1 (6-core, 64GB, 1TB SSD, D700 FirePro). So in total, my new system has the double amount of RAM and the triple amount of GPU RAM plus the nearly doublet the GPU power. But Lightroom dropped the performance massively.
Already tried deinstallation/installation of Lightroom. Optimised the catalog. Tried a small catalog from an external SSD. All with the same issue. When I switch into the fullscreen mode, I simple can not use Lightroom anymore, because it becomes damn slow.
With the upgrade, I also switched from OSX High Sierra to Mojave. Not sure if this could have an effect on LR performance. Especially because on my MacBookPro (2018 model), I run Lightroom also under Mojave and there the fullscreen mode works just fine and smooth.
Here are also my system infos.

I assume you used Apple Migration Assistant? That means you also migrated the Lightroom preferences. Maybe that is what causes the problem. There could be things in there which are computer-specific. Delete (don't just reset) the preferences and see if that works: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

Thx for that hint. Just did the reset. Feels a bit faster, but still, is super slow.

It could be that initially, LR on your new computer is doing face recognition or generating previews or synchronizing with the cloud, and so you need to make sure these are not happening.
If that's not the case, you need to state exactly which actions in Lightroom are slow now. Be very specific and detailed.
By the way, RAM above 16GB doesn't really speed up LR at all (except maybe Panorama and HDR)

Face recognition is switched off, cloud sync is off and I don't see any activity for previews generation.
Culling thru pictures in the library with both side bars and the film strip works fast and fluid.
But pressing the F-key to display single pictures in full screen mode, slows down everything. Culling thru pictures takes 6 seconds to load a single picture. So, the F-fullscreen (not the shift-F, which just hides the OSX window) just does not work anymore. I actually loved to use it for culling through thousands of pictures, while having a grid view on the 2nd screen. Now I can't use this way of culling pictures anymore.
Stil I can use the Shift-F full screen and just hide all sidebars. This works normal and fast.

Sounds like the 1:1 previews are not built on the new computer.

They are.. I extra have rebuild 1:1 previews on the new system for the ongoing projects.
