Indesign CC2018 - Unable Publish Online with Network Security.[Edited]

Since I have the 2018 version, I have 2 majors problems with the Publish Online function.

1. As I work Inside a company, I cannot publish a document online; I have systematically the error #22 (I hadn't it with the previous version). So I need to be deconnected from my company network and be connected on a free system with ADSL. I do not understand why.

2. When I publish online my document of 56 pages, I notice that some pages are missing. I have a cross at the top left of the page, like this:

So that the page is not visible.

I did try several times and the missing pages (2 to 3 pages) are never the same.

I add that I have absolutely no problem when this document is exported in pdf format.

Thank you very much for your advice and suggestions.

Françoise

Hi Françoise and Diane,

Here are lists of network endpoints for websites and specific services that are offered as part of Adobe Creative Cloud. The server and domains listed in this document must be accessible on ports 80 and 443 for the relevant applications and services to function correctly.

Please share this with your office IT team: Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints

Françoise, Do you happen to have CC2017 or another version of InDesign installed? If so, try it from a different version to see if it's a problem with CC 2018 specifically, or something else. I have not seen such a problem before.

Hi Diane,

I did try with the CC2017 version and guess what happened. Yes, the problem of missing pages disappeared (thank you); instead some links (at least 5 links) in the Table of contents do not function. Those links are valid in the PDF version, but not in the online version.

What do you suggest? And what about the CC2018 version?

Secondly, concerning the error #22, would you have any clues? It is possible to publish a document when I am not connected to the internal network of my company. I cannot do so when I work Inside the network (which I always do for security reasons).

Thanks in advance. Françoise

Françoise,

I'm glad CC 2017 worked. I wonder if you would mind filing a bug report on CC 2018 here:

Adobe InDesign: Bugs: Hot (933 ideas) – Adobe InDesign Feedback

As for your TOC, may I suggest that you "Update TOC" and re-run the TOC. Make sure "Make text anchor in source paragraph" is checked on.

Hope that helps, let me know if it does not correct the problem.

Thanks,

Dear Diane and other specialists,

I would like to come back to you, because my problem is still there.

My technical team has tested many tracks, but without success.

A new approach is emerging:

Could you provide us with a list of domain names and IP addresses to exclude from our security analyses to publish an Adobe Indesign document?

If you could give me a specific answer to that question, we could explore that way.

In advance, I would like to thank you very much for this.

Dear Diane,

Thank you for your concern.

I use Indesign for longtime. I was very happy to upgrade the 2017 and 2018 version in order to publish easily a document on line.

I can do it easily when my company uninstalls antivirus on my workstation. So it works when I am not connected to the network of my company.

However, for security reasons, we work in a network so it is not a solution to work outside our network.

That’s why my colleagues wish to have the list of all domain names and IP addresses to be excluded from their security analysis in order to publish a document Indesign online.

They know that there is something blocking and they would like to know what.

Do you think it is possible?

Thanks in advance. Best regards,

Françoise

Diane,

Just to be clearer, my colleagues explain me this:

The HTTPS flow is inspected by security equipment. We would like to exclude Adobe resources for online publishing (domain name, IP address block) from this analysis.

Do you think it is possible?

Thanks,

Françoise,

This seems to be to be a standard security question. I'm afraid I do not know the answer how to allow Publish Online through your organization's firewall. I imagine there is a standard procedure. I'm hoping someone from Adobe can assist, such as srishtib8795206

Or ohmnath. Perhaps by tagging them here, they can see the question and assist. Sorry I can't help more directly.

If you don't get a reply, please try messaging them directly via the forums here.
