Lightroom not using more than 8GB

Sorry if this has been asked before, the search I did only returned results for LR using too much memory.

My question is, why is it not using all of my available resources?

When I edit and things really start slowing down, I expect to see LR using a high percentage of my memory. I have 64GB and it never goes above about 7.8 or 7.9 GB.

Editing is not limited by memory.

Editing is usually limited by CPU speed (and GPU speed if enabled)
