Lightroom Classic CC 8.0 and 6.0 do not open existing catalogues

I use Lightroom Classic CC 8.0

As of today I cannot open any of my existing catalogues.

Due to that I also cannot make new a catalogue.

I have tried all advised possibilities but none of them worked.

Maybe a full new installation would do the trick, but under my photographer licence I cannot find a possibility to download a new version Lightroom Classic CC.

Please help.

Why not? What happens when you try? If there is an error message, please quote the complete unedited unchanged word-for-word error message.

Extremely unlikely, it will not solve catalog problems, but you can always re-install from the Adobe Creative Cloud application.

The full message I received you will find attached to this mail.

For your convenience the translation is as follows:

Unexpected error at opening the catalogue

The catalogue could not be opened because of an unexpected error

Three options: try again / choose another catalogue / close

I managed to run Windows 10 in safe mode.

In safe mode Lightroom did start up with the last catalogue used.

Both Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC are automatically updated via Adobe Creative Cloud under my photographer licence.

Please advise.

LATEST

Only attempt 2 worked in my case.

Therefor I have done a check disk via Windows (chkdsk C: /F /R) as administrator. Furthermore I forced the latest update for Windows to be implemented.

Now Lightroom works fine again.

Thanks for the help!
